One of the greatest advantages of the Veritas Collegiate Academy is its small group mentorship program. Students are teamed up with Christian mentors who are well versed in scripture, comparative worldviews, and Christian apologetics. Whenever a student is challenged in any of their courses by material that is in conflict with scripture, their mentor can use the opportunity given by the “teachable moment” to address the questionable material, augment the material with Biblically sound resources, and prepare him/her to return to the classroom with intelligent questions, comments, and references (e.g. relevant websites) that can ultimately influence the entire class in ways that no public school educator ever could. Through the academy, students will learn the Biblical technique of "taking every thought captive for Christ" and always being prepared to give an answer with gentleness and respect. The goal of the VCA is to help capture hearts as well as minds.

Prior to the beginning of each semester, students are teamed up with their mentor. Student to Mentor ratio is typically 12 or less (although mentors are encouraged to offer multiple classes each semester). It is the duty of the mentor to monitor, critique, and supplement a student's course content using God's Word - the Bible - as the ultimate reference source. Mentors are also responsible for developing Godly character traits in students as they grow in wisodm and knowledge.

"My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.

Colossians 2: 2-4
