For over 40 years, Christian faculty at UCSB have been meeting regularly for discussion and prayer. For decades, over 50 faculty members published an annual Resurrection Proclamation in the Daily Nexus simply declaring their faith (by definition: a confident trust in a credible or reliable source) that "He is Risen."
This year, UCSB's Christian faculty have gone beyond the simple proclamation by offering the resources below to help answer some of life's most important questions:
Why am I here? What is the best path for me to take? How can I make the world a better place? What does Jesus' death and resurrection have to do with it all?
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." - Jesus

THE CHIEF PURPOSE OF LIFE
"The chief purpose of life, for any one of us, is to increase according to our capacity our knowledge of God by all the means we have, and to be moved by it to praise and thanks." - J.R.R. Tolkien
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do" (Ephesians 2: 8-10).
"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. (Jesus in Matthew 6:31-34).
